Bupa Foundation announces new mental health and sustainability partners.
Bupa Asia Pacific CEO, Hisham El-Ansary said the new directions for the Foundation reflect its intent to lead in responding to issues that are critical to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of communities now and in the future.
“The pandemic has brought into sharp focus the link between planet and human health, and how they both must be protected and nurtured,” Mr El-Ansary said.
“Through the Foundation, we will invest in innovative prevention and early intervention strategies aimed at uniting our people, customers and communities in creating a healthier world.
“Beyond donations, successful community partnerships bring together the expertise of organisations, aligned behind common objectives to create something greater together. This is certainly what we aim to develop with UNICEF Australia, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Kids Helpline and Project Crimson in New Zealand,” Mr El-Ansary said.
In 2021, the Bupa Foundation has supported UNICEF Australia’s VaccinAid campaign, and also donated $50,000 towards UNICEF Australia’s COVID-19 India crisis appeal. In addition, the Foundation has supported Kids Helpline with $1.45m over the past year to help meet the growing demand for its services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bupa Foundation will continue to invest in projects that improve the health of our First Nations people, while funding grassroots mental health and sustainability initiatives through the Bupa Foundation Community Grants program.
More details on the objectives and initiatives of each of the Foundation’s new flagship partnerships will be released in the coming months.
